- The Chinook salmon has numerous names or alias'. In Washington and Oregon, Chinook salmon are called Chinook, while in British Columbia they are called spring salmon. Other names are quinnat, tyee, tule, blackmouth, and King Salmon.

Sooke BC is located on Vancouver Islands beautiful west coast about 30 minutes from downtown Victoria. The season begins in February with the "King, aka Spring Salmon" and literally hundreds of thousands of fish pass by our rocky coastline. February also is the opening of Halibut season.

East Sooke Park is minutes away. The numerous trails allow you to have a short walk or a full day hike along the ocean.
